Shalamar Enterprises ~ Overview In
1996 my meandering path of life brought me to
the beautiful Beaver Valley in Grey County,
Ontario. A one-of-a-kind fieldstone house on a
spectacular piece of land became my home and
source of inspiration. In this sacred setting I
established “Shalamar Enterprises”, a business
created for the publication of poetry
collections and the scheduling of motivational
speaking engagements.
I believe that children come into this world
with an awareness of who we were born to be;
however,
for many reasons, it takes some of us a long
time to fully embrace the unique gifts with
which we have been blessed. Having retired from
teaching in 2006, I am deeply grateful that I am
now celebrating life as a full-time poet and
inspirational speaker. Prior to teaching, I
accumulated a wealth of experiences from a
variety of occupations which I credit with
helping me to develop a spirit of compassion and
a deep appreciation for the strength of the
human spirit.
Shalamar Enterprises is an umbrella under
which a variety of initiatives have found the
shelter needed to emerge into their own light:
The
production of poetry collections and CDs
which are allowing me to share the reflections
of a lifetime;
My concept called “Precious Gems”
which strives to help people realize exciting
changes in our unique struggles;
The creation of
The Precious Gems Poetry Club;
A variety of public
speaking appearances
which continue to be a joy: pulpit relief,
community celebrations, small and large group
gatherings of people who seek to receive a
“spiritual tune-up!”
A role as a narrator which has been very
instrumental in my expansion into the internet
world. As the first narrator for
MeadowLane Children’s Stories,
I bring to life Donna Mann’s lovely farm tales
about real animals, whimsical creatures and
lovable kids. |
